About Wraft

Documents you depend on should run where you decide

We are building document infrastructure with a focus on open-source innovation and community-driven development — because the systems that hold a company's agreements should not be somewhere you cannot look.

Our mission

Eliminate the chaos of document management

Enable teams to work more efficiently through intelligent automation and collaboration tools. We provide a comprehensive platform that combines document creation, workflow automation, e-signatures, and secure storage in one unified solution — running on infrastructure the team controls.

Why open source matters

Not just software — transparency and control

With Wraft you can inspect our code, modify it for your business, and contribute improvements back to the community. No black boxes, no vendor lock-in.

Complete transparency

Inspect every line of code, understand exactly how your data is processed, and verify our security claims rather than take them on trust.

Full control

Modify the code for your business needs, extend functionality, and maintain complete ownership of your solution.

Community-driven

Improvements flow both ways. What one team builds to solve their problem becomes available to everyone running Wraft.

What we commit to

The promises worth holding us to

Commercial open source only works if the commercial side never quietly erodes the open side. These are the specific things we are prepared to be judged on.

The core stays open

Document creation, signing, automation and storage are AGPLv3 and remain so. We do not hold features back to force an upgrade, and we do not relicense the core once you depend on it.

Self-hosting is first class

It is how we expect most people to run Wraft, not a degraded tier. The managed service runs the same code against the same schema.

No telemetry, ever

A self-hosted instance never calls home. We would rather know less about how you use it than ask you to trust us with that.

We will tell you when it does not fit

Wraft is in active development. If your timeline or volume is beyond what it handles today, we will say so rather than sell you a migration you will regret.

The team

Who is building this

Wraft is built by Functionary Labs. Anyone can publish a repository — if you are trusting us with a decade of retention, you should know who is behind it.
